TBB AsksThe Blended Blog did a “Blended Blog Ask” in July where they asked participants random questions.  “TBB Asks” turned out to be so popular, they decided to make it a monthly series.

What a great way to get to know each other better, right?  Well, Leslie over at Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After invited me to join in the fun this month so here I am answering 23 fun, random questions about myself!

So grab a cup of tea, or coffee and let’s get to know each other better!

TBB Asks for August:

1. Pool, lake or ocean?

Oh, definitely ocean! I love the sound of the waves crashing against the shore, the smell of the salt air and the creatures that live within its depths.

2. Camping, cottage or hotel?

Mmmm, that’s difficult to answer because I like each of these things. As far as where I actually stay the most often, it’s definitely a motel.

3. Favorite ice cream flavor?

Chocolate chip cookie dough, hands down! I’ve passed my love of this delicious treat onto my granddaughter too. Maggie is 7 and the oldest of her 3 siblings, so when they have a sleepover at grandma’s house after the younger 3 are sound asleep, Maggie and I sneak up and share a bowl!

4. PJ’s, Nightgown, T-Shirt/Shorts or Birthday suit?

It’s a definite tie between PJ’s and a nightgown. They each probably get an equal amount of time.

5. Fave Summer Beverage?

An ice cold Michelob Ultra on a hot day is pretty nice!  But I drink water more than anything else.

6. Would you rather be hot or cold?

Can I cheat and say neither? In the summer I complain about the heat and in the winter I complain about the cold. Does that make me fickle? If I have to choose one, I’ll say I would rather be hot.

7. Sandals with heels or flats?

I am all of 4’10” tall which means I have worn heels my entire life. Although as I’ve gotten older the heels have shrunk shorter along with me! During the summer my very favorite shoes are Croc sandals. They have about a 1 ½ inch heel. I wear them all the time!

8. Shorts or skirts?

Neither! Capris are definitely my outfit of choice all summer long.

9. Sit in the sun or in the shade?

I choose to sit and relax in the shade with short bursts out in the sun.

10. Water, tea or soda?

Water, water, water! I love the other two, but limit them because of the sugar and I don’t believe the artificial sweeteners in the diet versions are healthy.

11. Fave summer fruit, vegetable?

My favorite summer fruits are melons. I love to cut a cantaloupe in half, scoop out the seeds and put vanilla frozen yogurt in. It’s the perfect light summer meal!  My vegetable choice would be squash sliced and cooked on the grill.

12. Sunrise or sunset?

Sunset definitely, especially over the ocean. I do love the Outer Banks of North Carolina because if you are in the right spot, you can watch the sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean and set over the sound. Just about perfect!

13. Bike ride or walk?

Walk… we live close to the C&O Canal which has a walking path that winds along beside it on its 184.5-mile journey from Washington, DC to Cumberland, MD.  It’s a great place to walk or ride a bike.

14. Winery or Brewery?

Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy a glass of wine, primarily when I’m with my sisters. But usually, it’s a brewery for a nice cold glass of brew.

15. Garden or no garden?

Garden, I love watching the little plants sprout from the earth. I feel like they are my little babies and I watch them every day and get sooo excited when they start to bear fruit!

16. Big summer concert or music in the park?

Big summer concert to see someone I really like. Maybe Rod Stewart, George Strait, a group from the 70’s, or?

17. Fave cookout food?

My husband grills Kansas City strip steaks that are to die for. So I’m saying those are my most favorite choice along with some tasty grilled vegetables. Steaks aren’t always available though so my second choice is the all American hamburger.

18. Dine indoors or patio?

In nice weather, the patio is my hands down favorite. Too hot or too cold and you’ll find me inside.

19. Fave summer destination?

The Outer Banks of North Carolina! You can read about our most recent trip in the post “Exploring Hatteras on the Outer Banks”. Part 2 of our Outer Banks trip will be posted soon!

20. Big theme park or local Carnival?

I’m not big on either one of these but I’d choose the big theme park. I do enjoy the county fair every year, but it’s the animals I love going to see.

21. Drinks blended or on the rocks?

I love a well-blended coffee of some luscious variety. My sister owned a coffee shop once and she made a drink called the Monkey Mocha that was soooo good. It had chocolate, peanut butter and bananas mixed in.

22. Popsicle or freezie flavor of choice?

An old-fashioned banana flavored popsicle is still the best to me!

23. Hot dog or hamburger?

I love both of these all-American favorites, but I would choose the hamburger over the hot dog. If I buy hot dogs, I now buy the uncured variety with no nitrates or nitrites.

Oh, Michelob Ultra, how I love thee. Your husband’s steaks sound fabulous. We have such trouble getting good, lean, tender beef.

I would like to be more of a gardener but our desert climate makes that difficult. So glad you joined up for this!

We have a Dutch Amish Market nearby that sells the most fabulous meat. We lived in the Mojave desert in southern California for many years, so I definitely understand!
