Did you know that today is Blueberry Pie Day and did you know that blueberries are one of the few fruits that are native to North America?
Native Americans called them star berries and believed that the berries were sent by the Great Spirit during a time of famine to relieve the hunger of their children.
We’ve known for a long time that blueberries have one of the highest amounts of antioxidants of all fruits and vegetables. There is now evidence however, that blueberries can improve memory. All the more reason to eat them!
I wish I had a blueberry pie recipe to share today, but honestly, I’ve never made one! Lots of other people have made luscious ones though and I put together some of their pies for you to feast your eyes upon!
- The first one is Blueberry Crumble Pie from Saving Room for Dessert and it looks so good I can almost taste it!
2. This one is called Easy Blueberry Pie and it was made by Amy at She Wears Many Hats. Doesn’t that crust look tantalizing?
3. The next one is Creamy Blueberry Pie from Bunny’s Warm Oven. This pie is made with sour cream giving it that creamy, luscious texture and taste.
4. Next is a recipe by Brown Eyed Baker that she calls The Best Blueberry Pie! What a pretty touch the stars are in the crust. I’m thinking 4th of July!
5. And last, but certainly not least, a totally fantastic sounding recipe by Half Baked Harvest. Sweet Blueberry Buttermilk Pies with Chamomile Cream. Doesn’t that sound like something out of this world good!
These are just a few of the many unbelievably good blueberry pie recipes out there. So many talented bakers to learn from and so little time!
I’ve been inspired to try my hand at a blueberry pie. How about you?

I’ve made many a blueberry pie in my life because it is my husband’s favorite. Of course, none of mine looked a bit like any of the ones you featured. Warm blueberry pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream? Delicious indeed.
I agree, every fruit pie should be served slightly warm with vanilla ice cream! Very delicious!
I love blueberries, we have eight bushes and have more than enough, I’m always trying to find new recipes! This looks like a great collection of recipes! Also fun to meet a fellow blogger in the Between the Lines series!

It’s so nice to meet you as well! I just tried a blueberry upside down cake recipe which called for using canned blueberries, but it turned out way too sweet for my taste. And I love sweets so that tells you how sweet it must have been! I think modifying it with fresh blueberries would make it much better. Maybe I’ll try it again!
What a wonderful collection of recipes! We have numerous blueberry bushes so I’m always looking for new recipes! Also fun to meet a fellow blogger int he Between the Lines series!

I’m having my kid’s and their families over for Sunday Supper tonight and I’ve been wondering this morning what to serve for dessert. Now I know what we’re having – thanks for the inspiration Teresa! Mine, however, won’t be homemade because of lack of time. Oh, your post brought back memories of summers at the lake where Mom and I would have our buckets at the ready for blueberry picking. They remain one of my favorite fruit.
Thank you! I’m glad it inspired! Blueberries are one of my favorite fruits as well. I like to toss a handful into my morning yogurt.

Hi Lynn, So nice to meet you too! Teresa
Wow! Now these are examples of a DESSERT! I have made blueberry pies before. Nothing special to look at, but they were delicious! I think I prefer the “crumble” style, though. Those are easier – and crunchier!
Hi Joyce, Thank you for contacting me. I did find your comment in spam. One day I’m going to try making one of these blueberry pies!
Beautiful pies & they do all look delicious. I cannot make a decent pie! I can bake so many things and my mother made the most awesome pies but I am a failure. haha. I love blueberries and can make a cobbler!
I fail in the pie department too, but I bet your cobblers are quite delicious!
