Hi, my name is Teresa. I’m a baby boomer, wife, mother, grandparent, semi-retired registered nurse, and blogger.
For many years I wanted to be a nurse, but you know how life sometimes gets in the way! Marriage, children, money, time, jobs, etc. So I had never pursued it, that is until I was in my late 40s! Yes, I graduated and passed my state boards to become a Registered Nurse at the ripe age of 48! Would I recommend it? I would always recommend following your dreams! However, I have to say nursing is hard, both physically, emotionally and mentally and I wish I had started in my 20s.
I have been married to a wonderful man, Paul for 32 years. We were introduced by a mutual friend that kept telling us that we were perfect for one another and she was right! I have three adult children, one daughter and two sons, and six precious grandchildren.
Besides loving my family, I also love animals. Through the years we have had a wide variety of animals: miniature horses, a miniature donkey, a pot belly pig, dogs, cats, fish, a hamster and a guinea pig. Right now, we have a sweet, loveable collie named Gunnar.
My life’s journey has taken me from the foothills of the Ozarks in Missouri to the high desert in California to the hills of West Virginia. When we first moved east we thought we would be here for 2 years and then move back out west. Best laid plans! We have lived here for over 20 years now. Unbelievable how fast time flies!
This blog has been on my heart for some time now. I wanted a way to reach out and connect with other people that remember the things I remember from growing up in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Little blue pedal cars, dampening and rolling up your clothes prior to ironing, cholesterol being irrelevant!
I am so excited about blogging and about all of the people I will meet and connect with along this journey. Thank you for sharing it with me!
