So with actual snow lacking, in order to get our snow fix the grandchildren and I have read some snowman books, including Read more….

I love having our grandchildren over for play days and sleepovers and wanted to have a room for them they considered their own. I’ve worked to create just that space for them.
The room had to be appropriate for boys and girls, so I chose two shades of green for the walls. I purchased paint from Lowes and painted three walls a pale green and one wall bright green.
When decorating their room, I needed more space for storing toys, books, and games. Paul, who is great at building things, removed the door Read more….

We were focusing on learning the letter H this week, but these things would work with any letter you’re teaching.
There is a miniature horse farm about an hour away from us called “The Land of Little Horses“. This is someplace I’ve been several times before. The first time it was just my husband, Paul and I because he has first-hand knowledge of my love for horses and planned the day for me. The visits after that have been with at least one grandchild in tow. Read more….

There is a set of books at Grandpa and I’s house that are just that!
They are nursery rhymes. 12 little board books that come in a box that looks somewhat like a book itself. There is something about these small books that toddlers just love. I purchased our set of books when our 7 year old granddaughter was 2 years old. She loved them, then the next one loved them, and the next one loved them and the next one! Read more….

My grandchildren really like pretzels. Do yours? They like the straight ones, the curly ones and the large pretzel sticks, which we sometimes eat for lunch with peanut butter to dip them in! Yesterday was beautiful, sunny and warm; today we woke up to see snow flurries swirling past our window and covering the ground. And a cold wind; can’t forget that. Oh well, it is March and that means “in like a lion and out like a lamb”!
When I was planning for my grandchildren to spend the day with me, my mind went to activities centered around flowers because I had seen several blooming daffodils and flowering trees in my travels. I decided to include planting flower seeds (to be transplanted to Grandma’s flower garden later), making a flower craft and reading a book or two about flowers to round out our flower adventures.
