For many of us the holiday season means traveling to visit loved ones. We all know what that means when babies or young children are involved… packing lots of stuff to take along!!
When family travel is involved, our grandchildren love to get to ride along with Paul and I. So a few years ago when a trip was planned and our granddaughter would be riding with us, I created a checklist in the hopes of not forgetting anything. I’m so much better at packing if I have a list!

So, what do you do when you have an endless list of ideas but not enough time to make them happen? Keep it sweet and simple when planning a backyard baby shower! That’s what we did for baby Ella’s shower. With little time to prepare we came up with decorations and food that were foolproof and simple to create. Rachel isn’t much for drawing attention to herself so she preferred a couples shower which helped to ease the nervous feelings associated with being the center of attention. read more….

Grandkids are the best! We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our 5th, a baby girl due in September. Currently my daughter and her family are living with us and the baby will be sleeping in Mom and Dad’s already crowded 10×10 bedroom! With barely enough room for a cradle and a few supplies Rachel is doing a great job of making the most of the small space. To make the baby’s little corner of the world a special place she created a ribbon and fabric mobile with white and pink polka dot print fabrics and vintage ribbon. It will hang over Ella’s cradle next to a small cart filled with a few necessities.
The mobile is so cute I thought it would be fun to share pictures along with the instructions. It is a simple and inexpensive decoration that can be customized to fit any theme or color scheme. read more….
