Christmas TreeAt the end of last years Christmas season, it was time to say farewell to our old Christmas tree.  My husband was tired of wrestling with it each year to put it together, hold it together, get the lights to work and so on.  That meant a new tree for this season.

We went looking for a tree and picked out a small, 5 ft tall tree.  We chose this tree because of next years retirement plans which include selling our house and probably living in a 5th wheel for awhile, but that’s a different story. So anyway, we bought this little tree so it would fit wherever we happen to be next Christmas (hopefully!).

The bloggers participating in the DIY Blog Challenge were challenged this month to create a Christmas decoration.  I needed to decorate my little tree and I needed a DIY project, so I decided to make a macrame garland for the tree. Read more….

Trans Siberian Orchestra in Hershey, PA.Trans Siberian Orchestra (TSO), the progressive rock orchestra has been delighting audiences for 20 years with their blend of Christmas storytelling and hard rock music.  My husband Paul, and I went to see them for the first time 10 years ago in Hershey, PA.  We loved their music and the story of the little angel seeking to find good on earth.

Stocking stufferI love Christmas stockings!  I think in a way they are my favorite part of gift giving and receiving.  It’s just so much fun to pull item after item out of that festively decorated stocking.  The bad part…. all of the added stocking stuffer expense!
