526 new orleans architectureNew Orleans turned out to be a great choice for our trip together this year!  It is its own little world filled with music, history, unique culture, food and architecture.  We made our best attempt to soak in all we could in just four days!

Since it was the first time in New Orleans for the majority of us, we couldn’t miss the famous Bourbon Street!  Walking down Bourbon you hear every genre of music, both inside the clubs and on the street.  It is a hopping place with one read more….

Steve and I took a reNew Orleans 119d eye and arrived in New Orleans at 5 am. First and foremost on our to do list… find COFFEE! At the advice of a friend we made our way to the famous Cafe Du Monde, home of the most delicious beignet ever created! If you’re not familiar with the beignet, it’s a French pastry much like a donut without the hole. It tastes a lot like a funnel cake, but a whole lot better. The Cafe portion consists of 3 beignets, which is the perfect size to share with a friend. I recommend pairing it with a Cafe Au Lait. One tip, don’t wear black, the beignets are smothered in copious amounts of powdered sugar! read more….

HouseAs you know by now, if you read our “About Us”, my sisters and I live in three different areas of the U.S.  Because of this we know that if we want to get to see each other, we need to travel, so we made the decision to come up with somewhere to meet and explore together each year.  This year we chose New Orleans!  Kathy’s husband, Steve, is the only one who has ever been there before so it would be a new experience for almost all!

We wanted to find a vacation rental that would allow us to sit around and talk in the mornings and evenings over a cup of coffee or glass of wine. read more….
