Easy Queso Chicken

Easy Queso ChickenToday is National Bacon Day according to some, but to others the Saturday before Labor day is National Bacon Day.  Maybe one is National Bacon Day and the other is International Bacon Day? I don’t know and it doesn’t matter because I don’t need a special day to celebrate bacon.  I love bacon any day!  Frankly speaking, just about everything is better with bacon!

This is a recipe that is made so much better by adding crumbled bacon to the top.  I made this for Super Bowl Sunday and it was a hit!  It’s a wonderful appetizer, but we have eaten it as our main meal too.  We just added a variety of fresh vegetables and fruit and dinner is done!

Easy Queso Chicken

Ingredients for queso chicken:

  • Frozen breaded chicken strips – use whichever brand is your favorite one.
  • Queso sauce – you can make your own if you have time, otherwise just buy a jar
  • Bacon
  • Green onions
  • 3 cheese blend
  • Ranch dipping sauce

How to make it:

Easy Queso ChickenCook your bacon – I cook mine in the oven. It comes out perfect and much easier to clean up.

Easy Queso ChickenPlace the chicken strips in a 9 x 13 pan.

Easy Queso ChickenSpread queso sauce over the top of the chicken strips.

Easy Queso ChickenChop up green onions and sprinkle them on top of the chicken and queso sauce.

Easy Queso ChickenCrumble the cooked bacon over the top of the chicken, sauce and green onions.

Easy Queso ChickenAdd shredded cheese over the top of everything.

Easy Queso ChickenPlace in the oven and bake as directed on the chicken strip package.

While that’s in the oven, cut up your fresh vegies. Today we’re having cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and radishes.

Then I like to add a fruit, either fresh or a jarred variety.

OK…I LOVE everything about this recipe. Bacon…cheese…and those chicken strips. I buy those frequently. They seem to be much better than any other chicken strips. We like to bake them and then drizzle with honey, cut into pieces and out in our salad. (I do my bacon in the oven also }. Great recipe. I will make for sure

I like your idea for drizzling honey on them and adding to salad! I’ll have to try that one. Thank you for reading and commenting. Have a great day!
