This has been a crazy busy month around our house. We were getting ready for house guests when my husband’s employer decided it would be the perfect time to send him to a class for a week. Perfect time for who?

Our guests were Paul’s sisters and their spouses.  It had been so many years since we’d all been together and it was wonderful to see them. With everything going on though, I hadn’t given the Destash Challenge a thought until Friday! I took a quick look through my craft supplies and zoned in on some multi-shaded pink yarn.

I made a messy bun hat for my daughter-in-law last winter and my thoughts went to that, except with the color of this yarn I decided to make one for my grandaughter.  So I got started on it with hopes of finishing it before Monday for this month’s challenge.

I found the pattern I used at the Daisy Cottage Designs blog.  I whipped it up for my granddaughter and she happened to come over in time to model it!

I’ve been crocheting off and on since I was in high school.  I enjoy it, just don’t find the time as often as I’d like plus I have carpal tunnel in my left wrist and sometimes crocheting aggravates it.  Even so, I don’t plan on giving it up!

Thank you Nina! It did happen to turn out to be the perfect fit. Now if I can just get her to let me put her hair in a ponytail to actually wear it!

I’ve never seen a hat this style before! Probably I wasn’t on the lookout for patterns like this because I have short hair since I was 9 years old. Now, I do have a little goddaughter. She and her sisters have long hair and might want one of these adorable hats. Thank you for sharing this idea!!
