When my grandchildren and I were watching Painted Lady caterpillars turn into beautiful butterflies I decided that we would read some books about butterflies also. One that I chose was titled “Velma Gratch & the way cool butterfly”.

Velma Gratch was the youngest of the three Gratch sisters and going to first grade was proving to be difficult because everyone remembered her sisters, but no one even remembered Velma’s name.

That all changed one day when her teacher took the class on a trip to the Butterfly Conservatory. The Conservatory was filled with all sorts of beautiful butterflies of different shapes and sizes.  It was almost time to leave the conservatory and make the trip back to school when suddenly a monarch butterfly landed on Velma’s finger and would not budge for days!  Velma will never be forgotten now!

This story is fun to read and teaches butterfly migration well.  My 7-year-old granddaughter really enjoys this one.

My first feature from last week’s party is this Breakfast Pizza from Kapps’s Kitchen. Anything that you can make in one dish to feed several hungry people for breakfast is a winner to me!

My second feature this week is Emily at Life Sew Savory and her Pallet Art with Fabric for Valentine’s Day!  Very lovely sentiment.
